Kerr is happy
Went to a dive shop with Alvin yesterday to check out a possible arrangement of a dive trip to Pulau Redang this coming September, during my one month leave. Haven’t been diving for 2 to 3 years liao and seriously have no idea which dive operator I should approach for such a trip. The other frens who are going diving with me is pretty tied up with work, so I guessed the burden of planning lies once again with me. Just that this time round, I have no idea where to start. Luckily, Alvin, who is an avid diver…well..almost avid diver, had all the contacts and hitched me up with this dive shop located opposite sultan mosque, which he highly recommended.

He’s right. The guy running the shop, by the name of ‘Anto’ is really a very friendly guy and in no time, we got most of the details checked out and though he doesn’t have any packages to Redang at the moment, he might be able to help me with some link up with a dive resort over there. Well, pretty much settled, I would think. Oh yesh, I have also arranged for a refresher course for myself next tuesday. Can’t imagine what would happen if I jump right into the water after not diving for the past 2 to 3 years. Don’t think I would want to put myself into that situation.

After that was dinner at a Indian food store. I had chicken beriyani for dinner and it was lotsa diving chat with Alvin who had a lot to share. I asked him on all the equipments and seriously contemplating to get myself a mask, snorkel, fins and probably up to a wet suit. Think it would be quite exciting when I go shopping for all these stuffs.

Actually, that’s not the main reason why I am happy. The reason why I was happy is b’cos I bought a book. Yup, once again, I think I have a "thing" for nice paper-back books. The smooth covers, somehow it just entice me to buy.

Anyway, alvin dropped me off at Raffles City and as it was still early, I decided to do a bit of shopping. Wanted to buy a pair of running shorts as I only have one pair at the moment and its pretty hard to run daily with just one pair of running shorts. So, saw royal sporting house and decided to pay it a visit.

The price is horrendous. Addidas is selling theirs at S$45 while Nike’s S$38. Hmm…do I really need such a good pair. S$45 can get me a refresher course for diving…plus all the moola that I would need to spend for my vacation month just round the corner, I decided, probably not. Walk around a bit more and decided that the shop I should go to is probably sports connection which carries the "FBT" brand of running shorts, probably going at S$12.90 or S$15.90, so its GOODBYE royal sporting house…guess its really for royalty.

MPH then came into view and since Sis still didn’t managed to get back her last 2 harry potter books from her friends, I decided to get myself a book. Seems to have burst my quota for the month. One new piece of clothing and one book per month…I already bought 3 books this month…well…
-
Was browing through the best seller lists and that’s when I noticed, I have already owned 1/3 of the books listed on it…mainly on Dan Brown’s series, another book called "The rule of four"…hmm…hmm…what should I buy. "Freakanomics" caught my eyes first. I have first come across this book when Kino was having their sale and I was surfing for a book to buy to take advantage of its discount…hmm…don’t look that interesting really…It was then this "not so well designed" cover book caught my eyes. (oh yesh, did I forget to mention that I always judge a book by its cover?)
-
The book titled "A short history of nearly every thing". Hmm…this would be interesting…there’s always so much that I would like to know but doesn’t much entertain the idea of doing so much research. This book would probably sum it up for me…I would have enough material to smoke about next time…GREAT! EXCELLENT!

And Kerr is happy…yesh…b’cos of the book that I’ve bought.
