about saying hi on chat
Have been using programs like icq and msn for a while and I notice something which is very odd to me…For quite a couple of time, when I say "hi" to someone, the other party would reply a "what’s up?" or "how can I help you?" kinda reply.

Well, I mean for starters, icq and msn are chat programs where people use it to…well…chat…so, saying hi is just a way of initialising a conversation and seriously speaking, nothing’s up and I’am just saying hi. Thus, I seriously don’t know how to reply when people ask me what’s up on msn, as I would usually say, "nothing", which sounds equally odd.
