A day of celebrations

Technically, I can’t say that its A day of celebrations, since the celebratory mood had started quite a while back and the very first combined birthday dinner I had was 1 1/2 weeks ago. It was a nice and quiet (erm…maybe not that quiet with gayle fussing over some apparent change that she has witnessed in me, that is definitely not apparent to me) dinner at patara thai, Raffles City. Really nice place, (thanks to Winnie for suggesting and booking the table) I like the ambience, the food and of course, most importantly the company (was basking in the wonderful companion of 3 lovely ladies - actually, cos the other 2 guys were LATE! But no complaints lar, cos the cake wouldn’t have arrived without changhe, thanks bro! And yesh, how can we forget Teik, who has rushed down after his remedial training, all sweaty and yet still looking good). My hostel clique (kind of partial clique only actually, cos one guy is permanently away in China, and the other 2 constantly MIA), great neighbours whom I have known for 5 years. Great company always, then and now. Whether it is eating supper away in our cosy (a.k.a small and squeezy) hostel room, having worms in vegetables (you know yourself, i don’t want to name names) for steamboat, or running away without ordering any drinks at different pubs, lounges etc several times within a night.

Then of course, was the ‘bu yao lian’ list, where the wish list were drawn up and constantly updated. I hope i was not too blatant…:P Might incur the wraith of other netizens out there.

The theme of the birthday this year is apparently "healthy lifestyle". (And yesh, Huijun, there are so called "unhealthy" birthday celebrations around) Nearly started off with a jog in the morning (sorry meifoong, should have agreed to meeting at 0730hrs…Tseyong came late in the end). It was off to blading at Padang first thing in the morning, where samsung has specially organised an inline skating event for my birthday (ya, rite). Sadly, heavens decided to shower me with blessings on the special day along our way and we arrived at a wet, warm and humid morning at Cityhall. It has definitely dampened our interest, but not our spirits, so we decided to have our own "private party" elsewhere.

I supposed special things happen to special people on special day. I haven’t exactly been falling down recently when I blade, yet I actually fell today, damned you pebble, stone, seed or watever for jamming my blades. (I supposed it is for people to sing me happy birthday song - courtesy of Wanqi, or to pull down my shorts - courtesy of Jason, as part of the celebration?) And yesh bro Tseyong & Alvin, it was really either a pebble, stone or seed or something that jammed my blades. I’am not that lousy liao okay. lol

The fall was quite incredible, (Not that I have rolled over, banged into a tree/lampost, fell into the pond etc) but rather, I managed to tear my beach shorts and my leather wallet which was in my back pocket (actually, a couple of important identification card was also cracked by the impact). (Incidentally, the brand of the wallet was called Picard, no wonder it Picha so easily…hahah) Sorry, Tseyong and Gerard, I know its a gift from you guys, but I really didn’t mean to tear the wallet. (Luckily it was from Christmas last year, else I would be so screwed man) Strangely, it seems to be "destroy your presents" day, cos the pair of beach shorts were also a birthday present from about 5 years back. Oops.

-

On a separate note, Tseyong also managed to destroy someone else birthday watch this afternoon, though Alvin and I still have our reservation about the matter. Oh well, Tseyong can tell you all about it. And yesh, Wanqi, please don’t be scared anymore. hahaha. :)

Otherwise, blading have been great today! Learnt a couple of new stuffs from Jason. And before I forget, a lot of you laugh laugh laugh today ah…next time don’t come and ask me how to do a power slide when I master it. The one who get tired very easy, please blade more next time ah, else you xia suay during the impt outings, don’t say I never remind you. :)

When you think that this is all to a healthy lifestyle, alvin and I went swimming (We did 20 laps - okay, maybe 10, if we use the definition by Don) in the evening before adjourning to dinner with the rest (Tseyong, Gerard, Lau & Don - sorry to all the spouses, but this is truly a guys night out only) at Bottle Tree Village!

I really like to thank each and everyone of you for spending my birthday with me. I had fun and I hope you did too. Thanks for all the presents and the well wishers, I hope that you guys have a good year ahead as well. But most importantly, thank you all for always being there for me when I fall (especially to my bros, and some sisters - sorry eh, but crash and burn is still my style). I really treasure your company and friendship and I promise I will be there for you when you need me.

-

Lastly, it has always been my greater wish to get all my different cliques of friends together, to get you guys to know each other. It would really be fun. (If you don’t believe, you can ask the people who went for the dinner tonight, how much they enjoyed suaning me and counter checking with one another) Should be attempting to organise cross cliques outing after this, so please support me with the turnout! See all of yer around!
